Frequently asked questions
Will the formatting be preserved exactly?
For text-based PDFs, paragraphs, fonts, and most tables convert well. Complex multi-column layouts, scanned pages, and heavily designed documents may need minor adjustments after conversion — this is true of every free PDF to Word converter.
Can I convert a scanned PDF to Word?
Scanned PDFs are images of text, so the converted Word file will contain images rather than editable text unless the PDF has already been run through OCR. For best results, use a text-based PDF.
Is there a file size limit?
You can convert PDFs up to 100 MB. Larger documents take longer because conversion is layout-aware.
Are my files private?
Yes. Files are uploaded over HTTPS, processed in isolated server memory, and deleted immediately after the Word file is delivered.
Converting a PDF to Word lets you edit content that would otherwise be locked in a fixed-layout document. mydearPDF reconstructs the text flow, paragraph styles, and tables into a native .docx file rather than just dumping plain text, so the result is genuinely editable. Conversion quality depends on the source: clean, text-based PDFs convert almost perfectly, while scanned images or print-ready brochures with complex layouts may require small touch-ups. Your file and its contents are never stored — everything is processed in memory and discarded as soon as the download is ready.
