Frequently asked questions
Is a signature added by mydearPDF legally binding?
In most jurisdictions, electronic signatures are legally recognized for everyday business purposes (contracts, agreements, internal forms). For high-stakes legal use (e.g. property transactions, court documents), check your local laws — some require notarized or certificate-based signatures.
Can I add multiple signatures or initial fields?
The current tool places one signature on the first page. Multi-signature support and per-page placement are on the roadmap.
Do I need to install anything to sign a PDF?
No. mydearPDF runs entirely in your browser. There is nothing to download or install.
How does the typed signature look?
Typed signatures use a clean script font designed to look like a natural signature. The output is rendered as a high-resolution image and embedded onto your PDF.
Is my signature stored on your server?
No. Your signature is generated in your browser, sent to our server only to be placed on your PDF, and deleted immediately afterward.
Online PDF signing has become standard for business workflows — but most signing tools want a paid account, a watermark, or both. mydearPDF gives you free, fast PDF signing with a real signature pad: draw with your finger on a phone, your mouse on a desktop, or type your name in a script font that actually looks like a signature. The result is a professionally-rendered signature embedded as an image into the PDF, ready to email, print, or archive.
