Privacy Policy

We built mydearPDF so people can process PDFs without surrendering their data. This page explains exactly what happens when you use our tools, what we collect, and what we never collect.

The short version

  • Your PDF files are uploaded over HTTPS, processed on our server, and deleted within seconds of returning the result. We do not store, copy, share, or read your files.
  • We do not require sign-up. We do not track you across the web.
  • We collect minimal anonymous analytics so we can keep the service fast and reliable. You can opt out via your browser’s Do Not Track or ad-blocker settings.
  • We never sell your data, because we have nothing to sell.

1. Who we are

mydearPDF (“mydearPDF”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a free PDF processing service operated by Audentix. The service is accessible at mydearpdf.online.

For privacy-related questions, contact us at hello@audentix.com.

2. What happens to your files

When you use a tool such as Merge PDF, Compress PDF, or Sign PDF, your file is uploaded to our backend over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The file is then:

  1. Held in server memory or a per-request temporary directory only for the duration of processing.
  2. Processed by open-source PDF engines (Ghostscript, qpdf, pdfcpu, pdf-lib, Sharp).
  3. Returned to you as the response to your request.
  4. Deleted within seconds of the response being sent. Per-request temporary directories are unlinked automatically by the server’s cleanup hook.

We never persist, archive, back up, share, sell, analyse, train models on, or human-review the contents of your files. The files exist on our infrastructure only as long as it takes to process them.

3. What we collect, and why

To run a reliable service we collect a small amount of anonymous data:

  • Aggregate processing metrics — which tool was used, the size of the input and output, how long processing took, and whether it succeeded. We do not log filenames or file contents.
  • IP address — temporarily, to enforce abuse prevention (rate limits) and to debug failed requests. IP addresses are not joined with any other identifier.
  • Web analytics — anonymized page views, clicks, and Core Web Vitals via PostHog. This helps us identify slow pages and broken flows.
  • Server logs — standard HTTP access logs (timestamp, method, path, response status). Retained for up to 30 days for security and reliability.

We do not collect names, addresses, phone numbers, payment information, or any data unrelated to the operation of the service.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a minimal number of first-party cookies, only where necessary:

  • Session cookies for the optional admin dashboard (only if you sign in as an administrator). These are HttpOnly and Secure.
  • Analytics cookies set by PostHog to deduplicate visits. These do not contain personal information.

We do not use advertising cookies. We do not allow third-party advertising networks on this site.

5. Third-party services

To deliver the service we rely on a small set of trusted infrastructure providers:

  • Vercel — frontend hosting and edge delivery.
  • Render — backend hosting where PDF processing runs.
  • Supabase — anonymized aggregate metrics storage (no file contents).
  • PostHog — privacy-focused product analytics.
  • Cloudflare — DNS and DDoS protection.

These providers have access only to the data necessary to operate their service, under their respective terms.

6. Data retention

Files you upload: deleted within seconds of processing, never retained.

Server access logs: retained for up to 30 days, then automatically rotated.

Aggregate analytics: retained indefinitely in anonymized form. We cannot link analytics events back to an individual user.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, and other jurisdictions with data-protection laws), you have the right to:

  • Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of any personal data.
  • Object to or restrict processing of your personal data.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

In practice, because we do not require an account and do not retain your files, there is rarely anything to delete. If you have a specific request, email hello@audentix.com.

8. Children's privacy

mydearPDF is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. International data transfers

Our infrastructure providers operate globally. Your data may be transferred to, processed in, and stored in countries other than your own, including the United States. We rely on standard contractual clauses and provider-specific safeguards to protect data during transfer.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page, and the “Last updated” date will be revised. Continued use of mydearPDF after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Contact us
