FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does Split PDF work?

mydearPDF analyses your PDF, then writes each page as its own standalone PDF file. Every split file is a fully valid, openable PDF — not just an image of the page.

Can I split a PDF into specific page ranges?

The current Split PDF tool produces one file per page. To pull only specific pages, use the Extract Pages tool, which lets you specify exactly which pages to pull out.

Is there a file size limit for splitting?

You can upload PDFs up to 100 MB. Most documents — even hundreds of pages long — fit comfortably under this limit.

Will the split files lose quality?

No. Splitting is a lossless operation. The pages in each split file are byte-identical copies of the original pages.

Are my files safe when I split them on mydearPDF?

Yes. All uploads happen over HTTPS, files are processed in isolated server memory, and they are deleted immediately after the split files are returned to you.

Splitting a PDF sounds simple, but most free tools either limit how many pages you can split, watermark every output, or refuse to handle PDFs above a tiny size. mydearPDF removes those friction points entirely: drag in any PDF up to 100 MB, get one file per page, download whichever ones you need. There is no signup, no daily quota, and no watermark on any output. The split engine preserves embedded fonts, hyperlinks, and image quality, so each split page opens identically to the original.
